Fine Dining Experiences You'll Find at the Beach Club

November 03, 2023

When it comes to a dream coastal getaway in any season, most people picture a cool sea breeze, the soothing sound of gently crashing waves, and delicious dining, all within arm's reach. The Beach Club Resort in Parksville, named for its prime beachfront spot steps from the sand and boardwalk, checks every one of those boxes.

But it's not just the stunning scenery that draws people here; it's our onsite restaurant & lounge, the exceptional onsite eatery that delivers more than just great food. Dining at the Beach Club Resort Parksville means a memorable experience, regardless of the occasion.

WATERFRONT DINING AT THE BEACH CLUB RESORT PARKSVILLE

It's no secret that one of the main reasons to stay at The Beach Club Resort is its proximity to the beach (after all, it's in the name). The hotel's onsite restaurant, offers the literal best seat in the house, with its waterfront patio mere steps from the Parksville Beach Boardwalk.

There's even direct access from our patio! Take in views of the surrounding mountains as you enjoy the sea breeze dancing across your face. Whether celebrating a special occasion over dinner, grabbing breakfast on your way out to explore for the day, or simply meeting a friend for a casual drink, the restaurant is some of the best dining in Parksville.

Speaking of casual drinks, the restaurant has daily happy hour from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Come in and enjoy 10 for $20 freshly shucked oysters and $5 glasses of Prosecco. If you have a bigger appetite or are ready to treat yourself, pop in on Thursdays for Prime Rib Night. Starting at $42 per person, enjoy a generous portion of juicy prime rib, complemented by side dishes including traditional Yorkshire pudding, seasonal roasted vegetables, and mashed potatoes.

We have you covered there when you want something upscale any day of the week, too. Try the fan favourite Hazelnut Crusted Halibut With Vanilla Lobster Cream or the photogenic Bone Marrow Luge enhancement, available as an add-on to any menu item.

SPECIAL OCCASION DINING IN PARKSVILLE

The restaurant also hosts seasonal special occasion dinners. For example, a Thanksgiving dinner in October serves classic dishes with a decidedly modern, upscale twist.

2023's prix fixe menu included a traditional turkey dinner with sausage and chestnut stuffing, cranberry stuffing, and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. It was accompanied by a sunchoke bisque (for those who may not be familiar, sunchokes are similar to root vegetables – and not even remotely similar to artichokes – with a dense texture and mild, slightly nutty flavour) with sage and hazelnuts. A bourbon maple tart finished off the 3-course meal. These special meals are available with or without a carefully curated wine pairing.

WHERE TO EAT IN PARKSVILLE, BC WHEN IT'S COLD

As autumn rolls on after Thanksgiving, the days get noticeably shorter and cooler. That doesn't necessarily mean the end of patio season, though! If you're dining at The Beach Club Resort Parksville this fall, you'll notice that we enclose our patio and bring in heaters to level up the coziness. You can continue to enjoy those incredible mountain and sea views, even when it's cold, or the weather turns grey.

In peak winter, nothing beats our comfortable dining room complete with the same views you can enjoy on the patio.

KEEPING IT LOCAL

Beyond having a fantastic staff, unbeatable seaside location, and culinary "dream team," another "secret ingredient" that helps us stand out is our local partners.

You'll find local ingredients and selections throughout our menus, from the Vancouver Island Sea Salt we use to products from Little Qualicum Cheeseworks. You'll also notice several Cowichan Valley wineries, distilleries, and breweries from right here on the Island. Next time you stop in, consider ordering a draft beer from Mount Arrowsmith in Parksville or Fern + Cedar or Love Shack Libations, both in Qualicum.

OTHER EXCELLENT RESTAURANTS IN PARKSVILLE

A crucial part of any visit to the Mid-Island region is the food. The local foodie scene across restaurants in Parksville is incredible, with a strong emphasis on slow food and ultra-fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients. Here are some favourite options to consider the next time you're in town and wondering where to eat in Parksville, BC.

  • QBurger: One of the top-rated burger stops in Canada, this stop is a must when you stay in Parksville. Q Burger is a fun, upscale restaurant serving unique burgers and craft beer. Some of their top options include the Q-boom and Burgeritto. We highly recommend this one for an upscale experience with a more casual type of food.
  • Ramen Eight: When you crave authentic ramen, there's no better dining in Parksville than this tiny mom-and-pop noodle shop. The Tonkotsu ramen is a must, as is the homemade ginger ale. As a note, due to limited seating, party size is a maximum of six.
  • Cuckoo Trattoria & Pizzeria: Cuckoo is just behind the Old Country Market in Coombs, home to famous "goats on the roof." It's a traditional Italian restaurant serving homemade pasta and wood-fired pizza. There are also daily lunch specials and a lovely outdoor patio.
  • Realm Food Co: Realm is a go-to Parksville restaurant for super light, healthy dishes that are also out-of-this-world delicious. Expect all local and mostly organic ingredients. The West Coast Bowl with local albacore is a must!
  • Fern + Cedar Brewing: This brewery, tucked into the East Village in nearby Qualicum, offers a constantly rotating variety of small-batch brews and phenomenal pub fare. These aren't your basic burgers and fries – think spicy lobster and shrimp lettuce wraps.
  • Wild Culture Bakery: A "wildly" popular bakery using only 100% yeast-free sourdough. They even mill their flour onsite! The shop is only open Wednesday through Friday, but Fridays are pizza days, so plan ahead. Grab an artisan sourdough crust pizza (or 2!) for takeaway.
