WHERE YOU’LL FIND OUR LOCAL PARTNERS
From food, wine, and spirits to relaxation services and woodwork from local artisans, we encourage guests to support local businesses by enjoying these fantastic products at the resort.
THE KITCHEN
It's no secret that Vancouver Island's unique geography and climate provide abundance for growing and raising food. From the fertile farmland to the ocean, the local biodiversity is unmatched.
Starting in our resort, look for the "Local" designation on in-room dining menus and in the onsite Restaurant & Lounge. This indicates fresh, sustainable ingredients and unique regional flavours.
Diving into deeper detail, we source most of the cheese used in the restaurant from Little Qualicum Cheeseworks. We get our brie, feta, blue cheese, and fresh cheese curds from this small, family-owned, locally-operated cheesemaker.
Along the same lines, we source all our microgreens and herbs from 52 Foot Farms. These are all organic and non-GMO. Additionally, the farm doesn't even harvest greens until the day they deliver them – giving you peak freshness and nutritional value.
WINERIES
We’re also proud partners with several local wineries. After all, what complements excellent food better than an excellent glass of vino? The resort's wine selection is thoughtfully curated from wines grown in the Mediterranean-esque Cowichan Valley, so you truly can't go wrong with any wine and food pairing.
One of our wine partners is Unsworth Vineyards in Mill Bay, from which we source Allegro and Pinot Noir. The winery is family-owned, and the longtime Vancouver Islanders are deeply passionate about local wine and food while understanding the value of hard work.
BREWERIES, CIDERIES, AND SPIRITS
Visiting Parksville is all about adventure (even if you're a local!), and what could be more refreshing than a cold beverage after an action-packed day? The Beach Club has just the thing: a hand-selected offering of local Vancouver Island beers, cocktails, and ciders. We even have fire pit tables with a gorgeous seaside view for enjoying that well-earned beverage.
Many of our beers, including a pale ale, IPA, blonde ale, and pilsner, come from Mount Arrowsmith Brewing, which is right here in downtown Parksville. It's within walking distance of The Beach Club! For nights when you simply want to stay in, you can enjoy one of their family-crafted brews on tap without leaving the hotel.
We've also partnered with the unique Merridale Cidery & Distillery for several spirits. This includes their Merri Berri Cider, gin, and vodka, all sustainably hand-crafted in Cowichan Valley.
THE RESORT
For us, it’s natural to support local throughout every aspect of our resort. From supply chain and operational needs to physical goods and maintenance, we work with local businesses whenever possible.
For example, the furniture in The Beach Club's guest rooms was custom-made by Parksville's own Current Millwork & Cabinetry, and we love to always keep fresh flowers from local florist Petal & Kettle.
Also, the relaxing Stonewater Spa is another on-site local business, where you can indulge in treatments during your stay including massage, facials, body scrubs and polishes, and body wraps.
